Kira Kazantsev knows all too well what it's like to have a busy schedule. As an advocate, keynote speaker, host, blogger and former beauty queen, her plate is full, but that doesn't keep her from taking care of herself. Q. What is your number one reason for staying fit and healthy?
A. You only have one body so you better treat it well and, in turn, it will treat you well! One of my favorite athletes of all time, Gary Player, always says "Rest is Rust" which couldn't be more true. You have to constantly be active to keep everything working correctly. And a good workout might justify a piece of cheese or some Jelly Bellys from time to time which I don't hate.
Q. What is your favorite exercise?
A. It really depends on what mood I'm in. I also love to switch up my exercise routine so I don't start to get lazy, or bored. I love pilates, circuit training, bickram yoga, and just a nice run at the beach. They all combine high cardio and lead to lean muscles which are my target results.
Q. How do you stay motivated to workout and stay healthy?
A. I remind myself life is all about balance - the harder you work the more you are rewarded. I feel best when I work out consistently and eat healthy. That feeling of wellness is what I'm always trying to maintain as I navigate my every day.
Q. What are your go-to pieces to workout in?
A. A cute sports bra, a loose tank, and fun capri leggings. I'm a fan of mixing and matching and loud outfits at the gym.
Q. Why do you love your SHAPE and why should all women celebrate their unique physiques?
A. I love my shape because it's all natural and it's just me. There's nothing more beautiful than embracing who you are and accepting everything, including the flaws. I've learned over time that there is no true ideal, there is just you and your personal best and I am totally fine with that.
